4-Hour Machine Guarding: TR - 013

Course Length: 4 hours

This program trains employees on the hazards of moving machine parts and how to properly guard those machines in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.211.

Course Objectives:

• Demonstration that all individuals understand the requirement of machine guarding
• Identification of “Under, Around, Over and Through” hazards
• Hazard identification and inspection of machine guards
• Proper work practices around moving machinery
• Proper construction and mounting of machine guards
• Use of different materials for machine guarding
• Guarding by location is reviewed
• OSHA and ANSI documents are presented

This program focuses on inspection, identification and installation of guards. Primarily attendees are maintenance mechanics, supervisors and those employees tasked with site inspections.
