3-Hour Respiratory Protection

Course Length: 3 Hours

This program trains employees on the hazards and procedures of utilizing respiratory protective equipment in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.134.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify reasons that require use of respiratory protective equipment
  • Discuss requirements of a Respiratory Protection Program
  • Identify methods of hazard evaluation and contaminant identification
  • The physical demands of respirator usage and medical requirements
  • Fit testing methods, qualitative and quantitative
  • Respirator and filter selection
  • Use, maintenance and storage of respiratory equipment
  • Supplied air systems and their use

Employees are trained on the proper use and selection of respiratory equipment. Cartridge change out and identification of cartridge failure are also discussed. Fit testing of employees is often performed during this training program.
