4-Hour Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Training

Course Length: 4 Hours

Develop a sense of confidence in the SCBA and the employees’ ability to use the SCBA through hand-on use of the SCBA. This is accomplished by suing various exercises requiring varied levels of efforts and skills while wearing the SCBA.

• How to choose the appropriate respiratory protection for the various hazards encountered in the workplace
• Proper use Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Pre-use inspection and how to care for the SCBA after use
  • Inspection
  • Cleaning
  • Maintenance
  • Storage
• Donning/Doffing
• Emergency Procedures
• For Hazardous Materials Technicians and Confined Space Rescue team members each is required to use the SCBA during simulated exercises, during those specific classes

Notice: To be qualified to use a SCBA a person must be trained, medically qualified, and have a fit test for the specific face piece to be worn, per the OSHA standard.
