8-Hour Powered Industrial Trucks - Straight Mast: TR-047
Course Length: 8 Hours
Classroom Time: 4 Hours
Practical Evaluations: Approximately 30 minutes per employee
(Inexperienced/Experienced Operators)
The classroom portion is designed to cover the OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.178 and 1926.602 for powered industrial trucks and includes:
- Basic knowledge of PIT hazards
- Operator responsibilities
- Workplace hazards
- Safe operation
- Inspection
- Fueling
- Different types of PIT’s and attachments
- Written test
The practical exercises includes:
- Pre-operational inspection of the powered industrial truck.
- Practical evaluation in which each employee operates the PIT through a pre-designed course.
- Evaluation of training (Examples: peers, instructor, coaches, etc.)
Learning tools include audio/visual instruction, handouts and discussion.
