8-Hour Aerial Platforms: Over 80 Ft.: TR-058

Course Length: 8 Hours

Classroom Time: 4 Hours
Practical Evaluations: Approximately 30 minutes per employee

(Inexperienced/Experienced Operators)

The classroom portion is designed to cover the OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.67 and ANSI/SIA: A92.5-1992 and includes:

• Basic knowledge of platform hazards
• Hazards of the workplace that can affect safe operation
• Fall protection requirements
• Inspection, safe operation and operator responsibilities
• Fueling, which includes battery charging, liquid propane (LP), gasoline and diesel
• Discuss the different types of platforms available
• Written test

The practical exercises includes:

• Pre-operational inspection of the aerial platform.
• Practical evaluation in which each employee operates the platform from ground level and from platform controls.
• Evaluation of training (Examples: peers, instructor, coaches, etc.)

Learning tools include audio/visual instruction, handouts and discussion.
