8-Hour Aerial Platforms: Over 80 Ft.: TR-058
Course Length: 8 Hours
Classroom Time: 4 Hours
Practical Evaluations: Approximately 30 minutes per employee
(Inexperienced/Experienced Operators)
The classroom portion is designed to cover the OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.67 and ANSI/SIA: A92.5-1992 and includes:
- Basic knowledge of platform hazards
- Hazards of the workplace that can affect safe operation
- Fall protection requirements
- Inspection, safe operation and operator responsibilities
- Fueling, which includes battery charging, liquid propane (LP), gasoline and diesel
- Discuss the different types of platforms available
- Written test
The practical exercises includes:
- Pre-operational inspection of the aerial platform.
- Practical evaluation in which each employee operates the platform from ground level and from platform controls.
- Evaluation of training (Examples: peers, instructor, coaches, etc.)
Learning tools include audio/visual instruction, handouts and discussion.
