Excavator Training: TR-052
Course Length: 8 Hours
Classroom Time: 4 Hours
Practical Evaluations: Approximately 30 minutes per employee
(Inexperienced/Experienced Operators)
The classroom portion is designed to cover the OSHA standard(s) for excavator operation and includes:
- Hazards of excavators
- Workplace hazards
- Inspection
- Safe operation
- Operator responsibilities
- Load charts and load capacities
- Different types of attachments
- Written test
The practical exercises includes:
- Pre-operational inspection of the excavator.
- Practical evaluation in which each employee operates the Excavator through designed course.
- Evaluation of training (Examples: peers, instructor, coaches, etc.)
Learning tools include audio visual instruction, handouts and discussion.
