Mobile Crane Less Than 35 Tons
Course Length: 8 Hours
Classroom Time: 4 Hours
Practical Evaluations: Approximately 30 minutes per employee
(Inexperienced/Experienced Operators)
The classroom portion is designed to cover the OSHA standard CFR 29 1910.180 and CFR 1926.550 and 1926 Subpart P for mobile cranes and includes:
- Hazards of mobile cranes
- Operator responsibilities
- Workplace hazards
- Safe operation
- Inspection
- Load charts and load capacities
- Different types of mobile cranes
- Written test
The practical exercises includes:
- Pre-operational inspection of the mobile crane.
- Practical evaluation in which each employee operates the mobile crane through a pre-designed course.
- Evaluation of training (Examples: peers, instructor, coaches, etc.)
Learning tools include audio visual instruction, handouts and discussion.
